Dear Parents, Students and Friends of St Patrick’s College.
Who would have believed we are into week two already. The academic year has begun in earnest and in my wanderings around the classrooms it has been pleasing to see the engagement of the students and the work being completed. It has not taken the College long to realise that there is a renewed focus on both learning and achievement at St Patrick’s College.
Please refer below to my speech delivered at the Academic Assembly last week, as I go into a little more detail of our priorities for this year.
Over the weekend I spent two mornings at the Henley Regatta. It was a valuable opportunity to catch up with students and parents. Some of the highlights were the U/16 Eights who won the shield for the very first time. There were also so many other firsts, seconds and thirds - it certainly was an impressive start to our season. Rowing is a sport that is resource intense, both physical and human, so I thank all the Collegians, parents and friends who so freely give up their time to make the program successful.
Senior cricket has been going for a number of weeks now and it is great to see so much enthusiasm.
Finally can I remind parents and students that while we are at co-curricular activities we are representing the College and therefore the way we present ourselves is of utmost importance.
I am certainly excited about the co-curricular year ahead.
