Tradition of Excellence

St Patrick’s College enjoys a long tradition of excellence in music. Offering a wide range of ensembles, classroom music and private tuition, the program encourages students to improve their skills and meet like-minded students.

Offering well equipped music studios and expert teachers and tutors, the program provides an opportunity for students of all abilities to cultivate and fine tune their skills and develop a lifelong appreciation for music.

Groups ranging from small ensembles to a symphony orchestra perform at a wide variety of events and functions, both within the College and at community events.

Big Band

A group for senior students who have shown dedication and commitment to their chosen instrument and rehearsals. Entry to the Big Band is by audition.

Clarinet Ensemble

For all students who are interested in or are enthusiastic clarinet players.

St Patrick’s College Choir welcomes singers from all grades, regardless of singing experience. The Choir sings to various styles of music, from traditional through to contemporary. There are many opportunities for group performances, tours and fun!

Concert Band

This is the College's elite ensemble. The Concert band provides musical accompaniment at major College events and is by audition only.

Development Band

For students who have progressed through the Primary Program with the view of furthering their musical journey.

Drumline

Drumline is the College's marching percussion ensemble. Junior Drumline group is for anyone interested in playing drums and percussion and learning how to march, while the senior 'Green Berets' Group combines marching and playing percussion at the same time. Invitation to join the Green Berets is by audition only.

Future Sounds

Future Sounds is a group of enthusiastic contemporary musicians. Bands are formed from different year levels who practice material together and participate in concerts. The group opens pathways to concert performances within the school and the wider community.

Intermediate Band

A band for players to further their skills to continue with their chosen instrument throughout their life at St Patrick’s College.

Junior Jazz

For students wanting to venture into the exciting genre of jazz music and performance.

Pipe Band

The College Pipe Band is a beginners bagpiping ensemble. Instruments will be provided to students who join this exciting ensemble.

Saxophone Ensemble

An ensemble for Senior students who have shown dedication to their chosen instrument.

Stage Band

Stage Band is for students who are continuing to improve their skills and understanding of the jazz genre.

Andante Strings

Andante Strings is a natural progression from the Primary School Strings Program and for beginning players.

Senior Strings

For those students who have the musicality and commitment to their chosen string instrument.

Symphony Orchestra

Symphony Orchestra is the special blend of winds and strings that brings life to all kinds of music - from movie soundtracks to classical works. A unique opportunity for players who want to challenge themselves, the 'SPSO' has high expectations of behaviour and playing, with limited spaces available.
