We develop the ‘whole person’ by encouraging students to explore their talents, build self-confidence, and develop a strong sense of social and cultural identity.

Education extends far beyond the classroom. From the stage to the sporting field, our extensive co-curricular program and other learning opportunities outside the classroom, invite every student to participate, grow, and enjoy success alongside their peers.

Outdoor Education

Our Outdoor Education program runs from Year 7 to Year 10, utilising Tasmania’s natural environment to teach students about "Self, Others, and Nature." These camps and retreats are designed to build resilience, empathy, and independence. By engaging with the world around them, students develop important life skills and develop stronger connections with their peers outside the classroom environment.

Outreach

We challenge our students to put their faith into action. Guided by the philosophy of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop to "never see a need without doing something about it," our Outreach program connects students with the vulnerable in our community. Through House charities and fundraising events like Project Compassion and Lap It Up, students learn to respond to the needs of others with compassion and direct action.

Student Leadership

Inspired by our founders' commitment to serving others, our leadership program empowers students to serve both the College and the wider community. We provide leadership opportunities at every year level, from Core Captains in the junior years to the Year 12 Student Executive. Through these roles and participation in various College committees, students learn to model inclusive behavior, represent their peers, and assist in the planning of College events.

Cultural Co-curricular Program

Students are encouraged to explore their creativity and step outside their comfort zones through a diverse range of artistic pursuits. The cultural co-curricular program enables students to develop communication skills and self-confidence, meet like-minded peers and express themselves in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Music Co-curricular Program

St Patrick’s College enjoys a long-standing tradition of musical excellence. With access to well-equipped studios and expert tutors, students of all abilities can cultivate their skills, perform at community events, and develop a lifelong appreciation for music. The co-curricular music program complements classroom music and private music tuition offering a pathway for every musician.

Sport Co-curricular Program

Sport is an integral part of the College community, catering to diverse interests and abilities. In addition to our Health and Physical Education curriculum, we offer a wide variety of competitive and recreational sports. Our spirited House Carnivals in swimming, athletics, and cross country are key calendar events that build school spirit and encourage participation from every student.
