Our Outdoor Education program utilises Tasmania’s diverse landscapes to provide learning experiences that develop resilience, personal growth, and spiritual development.

Some of the most profound lessons are learned outside the classroom. From Year 7 through to Year 12, students participate in a sequential program of camps and retreats designed to challenge their physical and mental boundaries.

A Curriculum of Growth

Our outdoor experiences evolve as students grow, moving from basic skill acquisition to advanced challenges that require initiative and resourcefulness. The program is built upon three key pillars: Self, Others, and Nature. Through these, students:

  • Develop Independence by taking responsibility for themselves and their equipment in dynamic environments.
  • Build Resilience through overcoming physical and mental challenges.
  • Strengthen Community through practicing empathy and cooperation to work as a team and achieve shared goals.
  • Appreciate Nature by developing a deep respect for the environment through immersive experiences.

Retreat Experiences

The program includes specialised milestones that allow students to disconnect from daily routines and focus on personal and spiritual reflection:

  • Year 9 Solo Camp: A unique opportunity for students to discover personal limits and inner strength.
  • Year 10-11 Retreats: Time out to reflect on Servant Leadership, Stewardship, and the themes of Pilgrimage and Journey.
  • Year 12 Retreat: An immersive experience where students are invited to engage in a deep experience of reflection and community.

By participating in these experiences, students develop vital life skills, such as leadership and self-confidence, that translate back to their academic pursuits and future careers.
