Celebrations and Reflections 2025

Mrs Liz Illingworth

By Mrs Liz Illingworth, Principal

THE CHRISTMAS SEASON - ADVENT

“Love makes us better, it makes us richer and it makes us wiser, at any age.” Pope Francis, April 2024

CELEBRATIONS AND REFLECTIONS 2025

Last week we celebrated our End of Year Mass and Year 12 Graduation. What a magnificent way to celebrate as a community. This event requires the work and commitment from many of our staff and students - from delivering the equipment, packing the Yearbooks, preparing the certificates, providing first aid, right through to the organisation of the Mass and seating. Thank you to everyone involved. It sure does take a village to run this event.

Over the last week, we held our Year 7-10 Academic Assemblies. Congratulations to all students who were recognised with Distinction, High Distinction or Honours Awards; to those who received Improvement Awards and Endeavour Awards for their work and efforts during 2025. Please see the article by Mrs Hills below, explaining awards and noting the winners of Special Awards.

2026

We look forward to welcoming Years 7, 9, 11 and 12 students back on Friday 6 February, and Year 8 and 10 students on Monday 9 February 2025.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Wishing all in our community a wonderful Christmas and New Year. May this Christmas bring you and your loved ones immense joy, peace, and love. Thank you for your ongoing support, collaboration, and dedication to making our school a vibrant and enriching environment. Thank you for entrusting your child to our College and all the best to those families and students who have ended their time at St Patrick’s College.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Awards Ceremonies

Over the final weeks of term, our College has held year level Academic Ceremonies to celebrate the exceptional academic achievements of our students in 2025. These occasions provide an important opportunity to recognise students who have demonstrated outstanding commitment, consistency and excellence in their learning. We have proudly acknowledged students through a range of academic award categories that recognise both high achievement and growth (see below for a description of each category). More detailed information about individual student awards is available on Schoolbox, and our special awards are also listed below.

  • Academic Excellence - Distinction - These awards recognise students who have demonstrated academic excellence across multiple subject areas, achieving extending results in the majority of their subjects.

  • Academic Excellence - High Distinction - These awards are presented to students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, with extending results in most areas of their study program.

  • Academic Excellence with Honours - Honours are bestowed in recognition of exceptional academic achievement. These students have excelled across all areas of their academic program and have demonstrated an ongoing dedication to learning, achieving an average of A ratings across all/majority of their subjects.

  • Academic Advancement Award - This award acknowledges students who have made significant improvements in their academic performance across the year, demonstrating diligence, perseverance and a strong commitment to their learning.

  • Endeavour Award - Endeavour awards recognise students who consistently demonstrate a positive attitude towards learning, strong work ethic and a determined approach to their studies.
